Jobst Wagner (born February 20, 1959 in Rehau ; legal resident in Bern ) is a Swiss entrepreneur and patron .

Life

After attending school in Canada, Germany and Switzerland, Jobst Wagner studied law at the University of Bern from 1979 to 1985 and graduated with a licentiate . From 1986 onwards, he worked in various positions at the polymer processor Rehau , which was founded in 1948 by his father Helmut Wagner in Rehau , Upper Franconia . In 2000 he handed over the management to his two sons Jobst and Veit Wagner. The business magazine Bilanz estimates the wealth of the Wagner family in the list of the 300 richest in Switzerland at 800 to 900 million francs. Jobst Wagner is a passionate polo player at the Polo Club Bern, which he co-founded in 2007 and which he is president of. Wagner is a co-founder of the “Entrepreneurship High Franconia”. The aim of the association is to create greater awareness for the region, increase its attractiveness and intensify contact between companies and the population.

Patronage and social commitment

At the headquarters in Rehau in Upper Franconia, Wagner makes art accessible to employees and the public with the "Rehau Art" art gallery and the changing events and exhibitions there. For example, woodcuts by Franz Gertsch were exhibited in Rehau .

Wagner supports a large number of cultural institutions in Switzerland. Among other things, he is President of the Kunsthalle Bern Foundation, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Kunstmuseum Bern and the Contemporary Foundation and a member of the Advisory Board of the Bern University of the Arts .
