Jochen Sachse (painter)
Jochen Sachse (born April 8, 1930 in Bautzen , † January 3, 2013 in Reinbek ) was a German marine painter . He created more than 400 works.
Life
After graduating from high school in Bautzen in 1948 , he trained as a motor vehicle engine fitter. In 1952 he undertook his first major voyage on the MS Tanger of the OPDR shipping company. From 1953 he studied shipbuilding and marine engineering at the TU Berlin . His first publications can be found in the works newspaper of Deutsche Werft . He received his diploma as industrial engineer in 1960. After a few years at Blohm + Voss , he moved to Escher Wyss GmbH in 1966 , where he worked until his retirement in 1993.
Sachse mainly worked with watercolors ( gouache ) and pencil.
He lived near Hamburg .
