Joe Cinderella

Joseph RC "Joe" Cinderella (born June 14, 1927 in Newark ; † October 27, 2012 in Whiting ) was an American jazz guitarist and arranger .

Cinderella began to play guitar as a teenager under the influence of the music of Django Reinhardt and Charlie Christian . During World War II he played jazz; in the 1950s he worked with Vinnie Burke and Chris Connor , as well as with Gil Mellé ( Patterns in Jazz 1956), Donald Byrd , Zoot Sims , Pepper Adams , Clark Terry , Kenny Dorham and Oscar Pettiford . As a studio guitarist, he participated in television commercials and film music ; he was also at recordings of pop musicians likeBilly Joel , Judy Garland , Neil Diamond and Barry Manilow involved. From 1969 he taught jazz guitar at Paterson State College (now William Paterson University ). From 1954 to 1974 he participated in nine recording sessions in the field of jazz. In 2002 he released the album Concepts under his own name .
