Joseph "Joe" Murray Cornish (born December 20, 1968 in London ) is a British comedian , screenwriter and director .

Life

At the age of 13, Cornish met Adam Buxton at Westminster Public School in London . From the mid-1990s both appeared as a comedy duo under the name Adam and Joe on their own television show. The The Adam and Joe Show was broadcast by the year 2,001th

This was followed by minor roles in films such as Notting Hill (1999), The Low Down (2000), Shaun of the Dead (2004) and Hot Fuzz - Two deviated professionals (2007).

In 2011, Cornish made his directorial debut with the science fiction comedy Attack the Block . In the same year he wrote the screenplay for Steven Spielberg's animated film The Adventures of Tintin - The Secret of the Unicorn, together with Steven Moffat and Edgar Wright .

In 2006, Cornish and Edgar Wright were announced as screenwriters for the film adaptation of the Marvel comic book Ant-Man . Wright was also supposed to direct, but dropped out of the project in May 2014 because Marvel had made changes to the script behind his back. Cornish was named as a screenwriter alongside Wright, Adam McKay and Paul Rudd on the final film .
