Joe Deninzon
Joe Deninzon (born December 3, 1974 in Leningrad ) is an American jazz violinist (also mandolin , vocals ), band leader and composer .
Live and act
Deninzon is the son of a concert violinist and a pianist. He grew up in Cleveland and studied classical and jazz violin at Indiana University . After moving to New York City in 1998, he recorded his debut album Electric / Blue on the Fusion- Idiom. He then worked as a freelance studio musician (including for Sheryl Crow , Bruce Springsteen , Phoebe Snow , Ritchie Blackmore , Smokey Robinson and Les Paul ), studied up to a master’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music and taught at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. During this time he began working with the metal guitarist Alex Skolnick , from which the band project Stratospheerius emerged . In 2002 the album The Adventures of Stratospheerius was released , mostly with Deninzon's own compositions alongside interpretations by Wayne Shorter , Vince Guaraldi and Stevie Wonder titles. After the live album Live Wires Skolnick left the band and was replaced by Jake Ezra; added the drummer Lucianna Padmore. Other members were bassist Bob Bowen and guitarist Mack Price . He also directed the acoustic Joe Deninzon Trio , with Bowen and guitarist Steve Benson ( Exuberance , 2010). He is also active as a solo violinist with the New York City Ballet and has written, directed and performed the Broadway show Spider Dance together with percussionist Alessandra Belloni .
