Joseph "Joe" Duplantier (born October 19, 1976) is a French musician from Bayonne . He is guitarist and singer in the band Gojira and was the bass player for Cavalera Conspiracy .

music

Joe Duplantier's influences include bands like Meshuggah , Metallica , Morbid Angel and Sepultura .

He also played in a band called Empalot from 1999 to 2004 .

Max Cavalera and Igor Cavalera originally asked Jean-Michel Labadie, Gojira's bassist, to fill the post of bassist at Cavalera Conspiracy. But since Labadie did not accept, Duplantier filled this post. Joe Duplantier made it clear that Gojira was his main project, which meant he could hardly go on tour with Cavalera Conspiracy. In 2008 Duplantier was replaced by Johny Chow and no longer took part in the second album called Blunt Force Trauma .

Joe Duplantier has been involved in two projects with his brother Mario Duplantier: Gojira and Empalot.
