Joel Milburn

Joel Milburn (born March 17, 1986 in Sydney ) is an Australian athlete who won the bronze medal with the 4-by-400-meter relay at the 2009 World Championships after he had been used in the preliminary run.

Milburn had already participated in the Youth World Championships in 2003, but did not immediately catch up afterwards. In 2008 he won the Australian Championship over 400 meters . At the 2008 Olympics , Milburn improved his personal best to 44.80 seconds, but was eliminated in the semifinals. With the relay he reached the Olympic final; there ran Sean Wroe , John Steffensen , Clinton Hill and Joel Milburn in 3: 00,02 minutes to sixth place.

At the 2009 World Championships, he was eliminated again in the semifinals. Together with Tristan Thomas , Ben Offereins and Sean Wroe, he qualified for the season finale in 3: 02.04 minutes. In the final, however, John Steffensen ran instead of Milburn. After the Australian season finished third in the final, Milburn also received the bronze medal for his participation in the preliminary.

At a height of 1.82 meters, his competition weight is 75 kilograms.
