The Johann Christian Reinhart badge is the highest honor the city court for special cultural achievements. It is awarded to people whose artistic, literary, urban historical and monument preservation achievements have proven to enrich culture. It is awarded by the Lord Mayor at the suggestion of the Hof City Council (1989–2005 Dieter Döhla , 2005–2020 Harald Fichtner , from 2020 Eva Döhla ).

The artist Johann Christian Reinhart was born in Hof an der Saale in 1761 and died in Rome in 1847 . The city of Hof donated a plaque in his honor, which has been awarded since 1989. The award and presentation of a certificate will take place during a ceremony in Hof's town hall.
