Johann-Günther König (born August 15, 1952 in Bremen ) is a German writer and publicist . He lives and works in Bremen.

biography

education and profession

König spent his youth in the Langeoog boarding school . After graduating from high school , he studied social pedagogy in Bremen . From the late 1970s he worked on projects in the context of international children's culture research under the direction of Heinz Hengst. At the same time his first literary works appeared. After being recognized by the state as a social pedagogue, in 1986 he was given the opportunity to obtain a Dr. phil. to do a PhD.

From 1987 to 2000, König worked as a sales manager and managing director for international companies in the telecommunications / electronics sector. In 2000 he and Hajo König founded the company König und König for communication and design.

König has been publishing poems, prose, literary travel guides and non-fiction books since 1975 - since the 1980s he has mainly devoted himself to cultural-historical and political-economic topics. He publishes articles primarily in the two-week Ossietzky , in newspapers such as the Weser-Kurier and other organs more, works as an editor and writes articles for anthologies.

He is married to Doris Heitkamp-König for the second time.

König has been a member of the Association of German Writers (in ver.di ) since 1978 . Since 2015 he has been chairman of the Association of German Writers in Lower Saxony and Bremen e. V.

In 1983, König was one of the founders of the Bremer Literaturkontor . Until 2005 he took part in the literature-promoting work of the Kontor as an assessor and most recently as chairman. In addition, he was a member of the jury for the Bremen Children's and Youth Literature Prize from 1984 to 2007. In 1985, König and other interested parties founded the Friedo-Lampe -Gesellschaft e. V. with headquarters in Bremen.
