Johann-Heinrich (Jan) Ahlers (born March 12, 1955 in Holte , Nienburg / Weser district ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life and work

After his school days, Ahlers completed an agricultural apprenticeship, including a. on a teaching yard in Klein Ringmar near Bassum . He has been a police officer since 1973, initially with the Bremen police and from 1988 with the Lower Saxony police . After attending the police school in Bremen and several years of individual service experience, he studied at the University of Public Administration. From 1988 he performed his service in Nienburg / Weser .

He is married and has two children.

Ahlers was councilor from 1991 to 2001 and honorary mayor of the municipality of Marklohe from 1996 to 2001 . From 1996 to 2011 he was a member of the district council of the Nienburg district ; from 2001 to 2011 he was deputy district administrator . From 2003 to 2017 he was a directly elected member of the Nienburg-Nord state electoral district and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. In the state election in 2017 , he did not appear again.
