Johann Adam Brandenstein

Johann Adam Brandenstein (born October 21, 1657 in Himmelstadt , † August 9, 1726 in Kitzingen ) was a German organ builder .

Life

Johann Adam Brandenstein probably learned from a master organ builder from Middle Franconia and settled in Kitzingen in 1688. He built instruments in southern Lower Franconia and also received orders from the Nuremberg area. His works followed the Middle Franconian tradition. The keyboard range mostly consisted of 48 keys. His organs were always equipped with the viola da gamba register .

He was the father and teacher of Johann Konrad Brandenstein .

In the course of a comprehensive restoration in 2005 by the organ building company Thomas Jann , the organ of the evangelical church of Obereisenheim could be attributed to the organ builder Johann Adam Brandenstein, it is currently the only surviving work from his work.
