Johann Affelmann

Johann Affelmann (born November 25, 1588 in Soest ; † February 28, 1624 in Rostock ; also Johannes Affelmann ) was a German Lutheran theologian .

Life

Johann Affelmann was born on November 25, 1588 in Soest as the son of the patrician Heinrich von Affelmann and studied in 1603 at the University of Marburg , 1605 at the University of Gießen and 1607 at the University of Rostock . From 1609 he worked as a professor of theology at the University of Rostock, where he had previously received his doctorate . He held this position as professor until his death on February 28, 1624. In 1612 and 1618 he was rector of the University of Rostock . Fifty years after his death, a collection of his works, Syntagma exercitationum acad , was published by Georg Möbius .
