Johann August Bach
Johann August Bach (born May 17, 1721 in Hohendorf ; † December 6, 1758 in Leipzig ) was a German legal historian .
Life
Johann August Bach was the son of the pastor of Hohendorf in the Borna inspection. From 1784 he attended the Thomasschule in Leipzig and from 1741 studied at the University of Leipzig , where he obtained his master's degree and habilitation at the Philosophical Faculty on February 25, 1745 and soon afterwards worked as a private lecturer . On September 24, 1750 he became a doctor of both rights , whereupon he received an extraordinary professorship in "legal antiquities" in the same year , which he took up on April 15, 1752. On September 20, 1754, he was introduced as an extraordinary assessor in the ecclesiastical consistory in Leipzig.
