Promenade in Leipzig - engraving by Bergmüller

Johann Baptist Bergmüller (* 1724 in Augsburg ; † 1785 there ) was a painter, engraver, graphic artist, engraver, art dealer and publisher.

Johann Baptist Bergmüller learned from his father Johann Georg Bergmüller , in whose workshop he worked after his apprenticeship. He lived in Augsburg all his life. None of his numerous paintings on the Augsburg patrician houses have survived, but these can be proven on the basis of documents. After 1767/1768 he was probably only active as a publisher of numerous copperplate engravings and as an art dealer. His frescoes were clearly under the influence of his father.
