Johann Baptist Bohadsch

Johann Baptist Bohadsch , Czech Jan Křtitel Boháč (born June 14, 1724 in Schinkau , † October 16, 1768 in Prague ), was a Bohemian - Habsburg physician and naturalist.

Life

Bohadsch was in 1751 at the University of Salzburg Dr. med. after having studied in Padua , Montpellier , Paris and at various German universities. In the period from 1752 to 1768 he was first associate and later full professor of natural history at the University of Prague . From 1761 he was a foreign member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences .

Bohaj wrote numerous medical and scientific writings. He prepared a comprehensive report on a study trip through the Salzkammergut , which, among other things, dealt with botany, salt mining and salt extraction as well as fossil finds. This was only published posthumously by Ignatz von Born in 1782 . The report is one of the oldest on the collection of fossils in the Salzkammergut.
