The manor Groß Radisch had been owned by the noble family Nostitz since 1682 . During his reign he and his wife promoted the construction of the new church in the royal Saxon village. After his death, as a result of the Wars of Liberation in 1815, the estate became part of the Rothenburg district of the Prussian province of Silesia . Today it is part of the Saxon Upper Lusatia .

In 1801, the widow had a monument erected on the Monumentberg east of Groß Radisch as a memorial, which was still known as Nostitzhöhe in the late 19th century .

From 1863, the Royal Prussian Geodetic Institute used the podium of the observation tower at that time for the assembly of a surveying column. The institute referred to the TP of the Central European Degree Measurement and, later, the Royal Saxon Triangulation with the name Nostitzhöhe and the consecutive number 2.
