Johann Christian Lehmann

Johann Christian Lehmann (born June 16, 1675 in Budissin ; † January 19, 1739 in Leipzig ) was a German scientist and university professor.

Life

Lehmann studied medicine and natural sciences at the University of Leipzig and received his doctorate there. Also in Leipzig he was professor of physics and medicine and several times rector of the university. He earned services to improve the Saxon salt works.

In 1712 he became a member of the Leopoldina Academy in the Physics section ; on June 7, 1713 he became a foreign member of the Royal Prussian Academy of Sciences .
