Johann Christoph Heilbronner
Johann Christoph Heilbronner (born March 1706 in Ulm ; † January 17, 1745 in Leipzig ) was a German mathematician and mathematician .
Life
Heilbronner was the son of a locksmith and was baptized on March 13, 1706. He studied theology and mathematics, probably among others at the University of Leipzig . Beyond that, little is known about his life. He is said to have given lectures in mathematics. He probably made his living as a private scholar . He probably gave private math classes to students.
Heilbronner gained fame through his writings. In his Historia Matheseos Universae he has compiled a noteworthy compilation of the mathematical passages in Aristotle and Psellos as well as mathematical manuscripts in European libraries.
