Johann Christoph von Minckwitz

Johann Christoph von Minckwitz († January 31, 1795 ) was a lieutenant general and head of the regiment in Saxony .

Life

Johann Christoph was a member of the Eastern noble family von Minckwitz .

In 1715 he had the rank of lieutenant in the 1st Guards on foot , then advanced to major in 1727 , in 1730 to lieutenant colonel of the Cadet Company and in 1734 to lieutenant captain . Minckwitz was named as the captain of the company in 1738 and then took over as the commander of the "Graf-Brühl" infantry in 1741 . In 1744 he became major general of the Cadet Company.

In 1746 he took over the infantry regiment "Nicolaus von Pirch" (No. 6) with the rank of lieutenant general, which was incorporated into the Prussian army as infantry regiment S 53 under Major General Christoph Hermann von Manstein after the capitulation at Pirna in the Seven Years' War . The newly established Infantry Regiment No. 6 in Saxony was reassigned to Minckwitz in 1758.

Minckwitz also took an active part in the campaigns in Hungary in 1715/16 , 1717 , 1733 , 1741/42 .
