Johann Conrad Eggers

Johann Conrad Eggers (born June 6, 1741 in Ebstorf ; † August 19, 1814 in Celle ) was a German Lutheran theologian.

Life

Eggers, a son of the pastor and later general superintendent Nikolaus Eggers in Ebstorf, studied theology at the universities of Helmstedt and Göttingen ; in Göttingen he is a member of the student order Concordia et Sinceritas . He became chaplain in Münder in 1769 , court chaplain at the Neustädter Church in Hanover in 1772 , superintendent in Gifhorn in 1777 and consistorial assessor in Ratzeburg in 1778 . From 1788 to 1802 he was the superintendent of the regional church of the Duchy of Lauenburg . In 1801 he was appointed as the first pastor to the Trinity Church in Harburg and thus appointed General Superintendent of the General Diocese of Harburg . In 1805 he became the first pastor at the town church of St. Marien and general superintendent of the general diocese of Lüneburg-Celle in Celle.
