Carl Johann Conrad Wyneken

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Carl Johann Conrad Wyneken (born June 11, 1763 in Spieka ; † April 22, 1825 in Hanover ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran pastor and superintendent for Lauenburg , based in Ratzeburg from 1802 to 1817, most recently court and palace preacher and consistorial councilor in Hanover .

Professional background

Wyneken, a son of the preacher Moritz Wyneken, studied Protestant theology at the University of Göttingen from 1781 . He began his professional career in 1794 as "Hofcapellan", d. H. second preacher at the Neustädter Hof- und Stadtkirche St. Johannis in Hanover.

In 1798 he became pastor and superintendent in Lüne , in 1802 he went to Ratzeburg, where he was appointed consistorial assessor as well as superintendent and pastor at the town church of St. Petri . Wyneken's tenure in Ratzeburg is primarily determined by the hardships of the Napoleonic Wars , to which he also refers in his correspondence.

Under Superintendent Wyneken, it was decided in 1816 to found the Lauenburg-Ratzeburg Biblical Society , which, however, only officially came into being one year after his departure.

After the Duchy of Lauenburg became part of the Danish state as a result of the Congress of Vienna in 1815 , Wyneken went to Uelzen in 1817 as pastor primarius and provost . In 1819 he was appointed to the position of second court and palace preacher at the court church in the Leineschloss in Hanover and at the same time took over the office of consistorial councilor.
