Johann Ehrenfried Colberg

Johann Ehrenfried Colberg (born November 25, 1759 in Stralsund ; † September 29, 1822 there ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran clergyman.

Life

Johann Ehrenfried Colberg came from a Pomeranian theologian family. He was a son of the Stralsund superintendent Ehrenfried Christian Colberg . After attending the Stralsund grammar school , he studied Protestant theology from 1778 to 1783 at the University of Göttingen and from 1781 to 1783 at the University of Greifswald . Here he was in 1783 respondent to a disputation on the resurrection of Jesus chaired by General Superintendent Bernhard Friedrich Quistorp . From 1783 to 1785 he was assistant to Pastor Hermann Andreas Pistorius in Poseritz .

In 1785 he was appointed pastor of the Stralsund Heilgeistkirche . To mark his introduction, Christian Heinrich Groskurd dedicated a congratulatory book Something about the flaws in the usual preparation of young people for future preachers . In addition to his parish office, Colberg supported his father Ehrenfried Christian Colberg in his office as superintendent and wrote numerous theological reviews.
