Johann Ernst von Pöllnitz
Johann Ernst von Pöllnitz (born April 19, 1618 , † April 15, 1684 ) was a Kurbrandenburg major general , Kurbrandenburg chamberlain, governor of Lippstadt and governor of the fortresses Minden and Ravensburg , colonel of the cavalry and knight of the Order of St. John .
His parents were the Saxon State Minister Hans Georg von Pöllnitz and Anna Petronella von Hell. Major General Gerhard Bernhard von Pölnitz was his brother.
In 1646 he established Infantry Regiment No. 9 . On December 7th, 1667 he became colonel and commander of Lippstadt. On November 15, 1678, he was appointed major general.
He was married to Arnoldine Katharine von Manderscheid (* 1620), daughter of Johann Arnold von Manderscheid-Blankenburg. The couple had a daughter: Johanna Margarethe Luise von Pöllnitz (1641–1698), who was married to Hans Adam von Schöning .
