Johann Evangelist Wetzler

Johann Evangelist Wetzler (also Johannes Wetzler ; born December 27, 1774 in Michelbach ; † 1850 ) was a German doctor .

Life

Wetzler studied at the University of Landshut and was 1801/1802 with the dissertation treat About the Faulty of zeitherigen method sham dead to Dr. med. PhD . He went to Straubing in 1802 . There he settled as a general practitioner . He also became a regional court physician in Landau an der Isar .

In 1804, Wetzler was appointed medical councilor of the electoral Bavarian state directorate for Swabia in Ulm and also director of the Vaccination Institute. During this time he began his writing work. In 1807 and 1808 he held the office of provincial insane doctor and then moved to Augsburg in 1808 as government and district medical councilor

Wetzler was appointed honorary professor at the University of Munich in 1838 . In 1840 he went to Würzburg as a government and district medical advisor . There, too, as in Munich, he gave lectures on mineral springs at the University of Würzburg .
