Johann Friedrich Alberti
Johann Friedrich Alberti (born January 11, 1642 in Tönning , Schleswig, † June 14, 1710 in Merseburg ) was a German organist and composer .
He received his training in Leipzig from Werner Fabricius and in Dresden from Vincenzo Albrici . He then worked as the cathedral organist in Merseburg until he left in 1698, due to the paralysis of his right hand as a result of a stroke.
His student Georg Friedrich Kauffmann was therefore appointed as his substitute , who after Alberti's death became his successor as the royal Saxon-Merseburg court and cathedral organist at the court of Duke Moritz Wilhelm and at the Merseburg cathedral.
Alberti created chorale preludes and adaptations as well as various sacred chants.
