Johann Friedrich Schlotterbeck

Johann Friedrich Schlotterbeck (also Friderich Schlotterbek ; born June 7, 1765 in Altensteig ; † June 14, 1840 in Obertürkheim ) was a German poet , teacher and administrative officer .

Life

The son of the Altensteiger city ​​pastor was supposed to study theologian and therefore first went through the lower evangelical seminars before he started studying at the Tübingen monastery . In 1784 he obtained his master's degree there , but had to leave the monastery in the same year. He then became a teacher at the Hohen Karlsschule in 1788 , where he taught Latin and Greek. After the Hohen Karlsschule closed in 1794, he was appointed court and theater poet and court theater secretary by Duke Ludwig Eugen of Württemberg .

Schlotterbeck showed himself to be a good administrative officer during his time at court. There he became a member of several colleges. From his position as Stuttgart clerk he went to Ulm in 1817 . There he was the office director until his retirement in 1828.
