Johann Friedrich von Schmeerheim

Johann Friedrich von Schmeerheim (* 1660 in the county of Lippe ; † March 12, 1728 ) was a Prussian major general and commander of Lippstadt and Sparrenburg . He was the owner of the Eckendorf estate near Heepen .

origin

The family probably comes from the Lippe region near Detmold .

Military career

Schmeerheim had been a captain in the Brandenburg bodyguard since 1687 . In March 1709 he was appointed colonel and commandant of Lippstadt and Sparrenburg. On March 17, 1710 he received the imperial nobility . At the beginning of August 1726 Schmeerheim rose to major general.

family

He was married to Anna Ursula Elisabeth von Meinders. He had a daughter Anna Ursula, who married the Prussian Major General Bernd Siegmund von Blankensee on April 22, 1722 , and another married a Colonel von Sydow. His son was killed near Mollwitz .
