Bernd Siegmund from Blankensee
Bernd Siegmund von Blankensee (born June 9, 1693 in Schlagenthin ; † February 8, 1757 in Magdeburg ) was a royal Prussian major general, chief of infantry regiment No. 30 and the bearer of the Pour le Mérite . He was also the governor and Drost von Ravensberg and heir to Schlagenthin.
Life
His parents were the heir to Schlagenthin Hans Adam Jürgen von Blankensee (* around 1650) and his wife Margaretha von Delitz (* around 1655; † 1717) from the Morstein house near Nörenberg .
In 1710 he joined the Prussian army as a simple soldier and was placed in Regiment No. 9 in Küstrin . He became a sergeant and ensign when he was transferred to Regiment No. 10 in 1711 . He fought with the regiment in Holland until the Peace of Utrecht . On April 24, 1713 he became an ensign and on October 30, 1713, second lieutenant. In the Pomeranian campaign of 1715/1716 he fought in the siege of Stralsund . Around 1717 he was to be found as a recruiter in Weilburg, Braunfels and Kassel. On February 24, 1728 he was promoted to Premier Lieutenant. On December 6, 1728 he became a staff captain, on August 28, 1730 a real captain, and on September 16, 1739, a major. In the First Silesian War he fought in the Battle of Mollwitz , where he received two bullets in the right side. Nevertheless, on October 30th, he was present at the successful siege of the Neisse fortress. On May 17, 1742 he fought in the battle of Chotusitz . On June 3, 1742 he was made lieutenant colonel and on November 2, 1745 colonel. He was injured several times again in the battle of Kesselsdorf .
On August 12, 1751 he received the Drostei Ravensburg and in October 1751 the order Pour le Mérite. On September 9, 1754 he was promoted to major general. On November 5, 1754, he received Infantry Regiment No. 30 . At the beginning of the Seven Years' War he led the regiment into the battle of Lobositz . But he was physically exhausted and went to Magdeburg to relax . There he took over regiment S52 , which was formed from Saxons captured near Pirna , but died in Magdeburg on February 8, 1757.

He was married to Maria Charlotte von Schmeerheim (born April 11, 1701;?) Since April 22, 1722, she was the daughter of Major General Johann Friedrich von Schmeerheim, Governor of Lippstadt. The couple had the following children:
