He then stayed in Münster, where he studied theology and philosophy at the Catholic Academy in Münster, where he was ordained a priest on September 20, 1834 . From 1853 he carried the title of rector and in 1855 became a member of the newly created Catholic High School College. In 1856 he took over the sole management of the grammar school and received the formal title of grammar school director the following year.

Furthermore, Nieberding was politically active, for which the development towards parliamentarianism in Oldenburg gave him the opportunity. From 1849 he was a member of the first and second Oldenburg state parliament as a representative of the Catholic parliamentary group.

In the programs of his grammar school Nieberding also published a few essays and completed the third volume of the history of the Niederstift Münster of his uncle Carl Heinrich Nieberding.
