Johann Halbritter

Johann Halbritter (* 1560 in Michelfeld ; † 1627 in Tübingen ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Halbritter studied at the University of Leipzig , the University of Wittenberg and the University of Heidelberg . After working at the Imperial Court in Speyer , he was appointed professor of law at the University of Tübingen in 1586 . There he gave lectures on the institutions, was rector of the university nine times , dean of the law faculty twelve times and received the title of Württemberg councilor , which he remained until the end of his life. His portrait hangs in the professors' gallery in Tübingen .
