Johann Jacob Löwe (* August 1629 in Vienna , † 1703 in Lüneburg ) was a German organist , composer and court conductor.

Life

Johann Jacob Löwe was baptized on August 31, 1629 as the son of the Saxon ambassador in Vienna . From 1652 he was a student of Heinrich Schütz . On his recommendation he went to Wolfenbüttel as Kapellmeister in 1655 . From 1663 to 1665 he was court music director in Zeitz and from 1682 until his death organist at St. Nicolai in Lüneburg .
