Johann Jakob Gradmann (also Johann Jacob Gradmann ; born December 28, 1750 in Ravensburg ; † January 31, 1817 ibid) was a German Lutheran clergyman , theologian and educator .

Life

Gradmann first attended the Latin school in his hometown. He then went to the Princely School in Neustadt an der Aisch and the Ulm High School . In 1769 he began studying philosophy at the University of Erfurt , then switched to studying theology at the universities of Jena and Erlangen . In 1772 he returned to Ravensburg. He taught there for eight years and helped out in the field ministry .

Degree man took in 1780 a reputation as rector and vicar of Isny , but returned already in 1782 as rector of the Latin School and the fourth priest back to Ravensburg. In 1786 he rose to the third and in 1796 to the second city pastor. In 1787 he was also preacher of the penitentiary. Over the years he was appointed consistorial, school and church council.
