Johann Jakob Spörri
Johann Jakob Spörri (born January 20, 1822 in Bauma ; † December 16, 1896 there ) was a Swiss physician and politician .
biography
After attending the private school Scherr in Winterthur Johann Jakob Spörri gained in 1843 in Zurich , the Matura . Then he studied from 1843 to 1844 in Bern , 1844-1846 in Zurich , from 1846 to 1848 in Heidelberg and from 1848 to 1849 in Prague and Vienna medicine . In 1846 he became a member of the Corps Helvetia in Heidelberg . He graduated in 1849 in Zurich with the graduation to the Dr. med. from.
In 1850 Spörri settled in Bauma as a country doctor. In 1852 he became adjunct to the district doctor. From 1860 to 1892 he was a district doctor in Pfäffikon . From 1853 to 1870 he worked as a medical expert in the military districts of Wetzikon and Wald .
From 1869 to 1871 he was Democratic member of the Canton of Zurich for the National Council . He was then a member of the board of directors of the Tösstalbahn until 1878 . His political commitment was to improve the welfare system and working conditions of factory workers.
