Johann Joseph von Kiliani

Johann Joseph Kiliani , from 1837 Ritter von Kiliani , (born January 27, 1798 in Würzburg , † October 31, 1864 in Munich ) was a German lawyer . He was professor and rector at the University of Würzburg and attorney general at the Higher Appeal Court in Munich. As a Bavarian State Councilor , he was an advisor to Maximilian II, King of Bavaria .

Life

Kiliani grew up in Würzburg and studied law at the University of Würzburg after high school . In 1821 he filed for state bankruptcy. He then received his doctorate and joined the Lower Main District District Court as an actuary .

After completing his habilitation , he became associate professor in 1827 and, as successor to Georg Lauk, ordained professor for common and Bavarian civil litigation and civil internship at the University of Würzburg in 1828 ; his successor was Johann Ambros Michael Albrecht . After Ernst von Moy de Sons had left the university, he took over Bavarian constitutional law, federal law and international law in 1837/38, handing over procedural law. Anton Arnold von Linck succeeded him in public law . From 1832 to 1838 he was rector of the Würzburg University. In 1833 he was appointed court counselor and in 1837 he received the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown , with which the ennoblement was connected.

In 1838 he became a councilor at the Higher Appeal Court for the Kingdom of Bavaria in Munich. After initially serving as an extraordinary councilor, he eventually became attorney general . At the same time, in 1855, he became the Bavarian State Councilor in regular service.

He was considered to be conservative and supportive of the state.
