Johann Knöchel (born December 25, 1903 in Obernsees , † January 14, 1986 in Radebeul ; also wrong name form: Franz Knöchel ) was a German miner and politician (KPD, SED).

Live and act

After attending elementary school , the son of a miner worked for four years as a miner and then for five years as a community worker in the city administration of Oelsnitz in the Ore Mountains, before he began to earn his living as a full-time functionary of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD). This belonged to Kn ankle from 1920. He joined the Free Socialist Youth (FSJ) in Oelsnitz in 1920 , which was renamed the Communist Youth Association of Germany (KJVD) in September 1920 . In the following years he headed the local branch and the sub-district Oelsnitz of the KJVD. In Oelsnitz he worked in the KPD with the brothers Bodo, Fritz and Fredo Ritscher . In 1927 he became a city councilor in Oelsnitz and from January 1929 he headed the Oelsnitz sub-district of the KPD. In June 1929 he became a delegate at the 12th party congress in Berlin . As a member of the district assembly of the Stollberg district administration , he was a participant in the 1st communal politics course at the Rosa Luxemburg School of the KPD in Schöneiche-Fichtenau in 1929 . From 1930 to 1932 Knöchel was a member of his party for constituency 30 (Chemnitz-Zwickau) in the Reichstag in Berlin. During the Nazi era , he was a well-known communist and was temporarily imprisoned by the Gestapo in the Colditz concentration camp . From 1940 to 1945 he was a soldier in the Wehrmacht.

After the Second World War , Knöchel rejoined the KPD in 1945 and the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) in 1946 . He became mayor of Hartenstein , later district administrator of the district of Zittau. In 1951 Knöchel became head of the main forestry department in the Saxon Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and later chairman of the council of the Dresden-Land district and manager (personnel manager) at the Planeta printing press plant in Radebeul .

In 1960 Knöchel was chairman of the council of the Zittau district , then honorary chairman of the Dresden-Land district revision commission of the SED for many years. He last lived as a veteran in Radebeul and died at the age of 82.
