Johann Philipp Burckhard Asbrand (born September 19, 1722 in Spangenberg , † December 20, 1779 in Rinteln ) was a German Reformed theologian .

Life

Johann Philipp Burckhard Asbrand was born as the son of the rent master and judicial officer Johann Ernst Asbrand and his wife Maria Elisabeth Becker. He studied at the University of Marburg under Ries, Kirchmeier, Hartmann and Spangenberg, where he was appointed Master of Philosophy on November 16, 1744 . As of May 27, 1756 he was minister of the Reformed church in Rinteln and was a professor of Greek language at the local university . What job he did until his death.

Asbrand was married twice. His first marriage was on June 3, 1763 with Margarethe Elisabeth Kleinschmidt († November 27, 1773 in Rinteln), the daughter of the metropolitan in Vach Justus Hermann Kleinschmidt. The marriage has two sons and a daughter. In 1777 he married Franciske Bucher for the second time, the daughter of the valet Johann Friedrich Bucher.
