Johann Scheringer (born July 12, 1936 in Kösching ) is a former state politician in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . After his work as a member of the PDS during the 10th electoral term of the People's Chamber , he represented his party and its successor parties in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament from 1990 to 2002, temporarily as parliamentary group chairman and as second vice-president of the state parliament.

Life

Johann Scheringer was born on July 12, 1936 as one of 11 children of the farmer Richard Scheringer in Kösching . His brother Konrad Scheringer also became LPG chairman and later PDS member of the state parliament. After attending primary school, where he was taught by nuns for four years, among other things, he switched to the secondary school in Ingolstadt after the war . Then Scheringer took up an agricultural apprenticeship and attended, among other things, the agricultural winter school in Ingolstadt. Until 1961 he worked as an assistant on his parents' Dürrnhof. Marked by his communist parents, Scheringer saw the future of agriculture in the establishment of LPGs and in 1961 moved to the GDR, which was well-meaning to him, not least through his father. He was given the opportunity to study at the LPG University in Meißen from 1961 to 1964. During his studies he was accepted into the SED in 1963.

After completing his studies, Ernst Wulf brought him to the LPG "Recknitztal" Semlow in Western Pomerania, where he immediately became head of pig production, which he remained until 1972. After that, Scheringer took over the Semlower LPG as chairman until 1990, and later he managed the LPGs in Trinwillershagen and Eixen .

Until the political change, Scheringer, meanwhile a PDS member, ran for the first free Volkskammer elections on March 18, 1990. He moved to the People's Chamber through the top third place on the list of the Rostock district, but retired their dissolution from federal politics. Scheringer now devoted himself to state politics and ran again for the PDS in the state elections on October 14, 1990. As one of 12 members of parliament he entered the Schwerin state parliament. He was elected chairman of his group for the first electoral term. In the second parliamentary election period from 1994 to 1998, the parliament elected him as second vice-president of the parliament. In the 3rd state parliament election period from 1998 to 2002 Scheringer headed the Agriculture Committee.

Shortly after his 70th birthday, Scheringer, who had previously retired from politics, became an entrepreneur and founded Ölmühlen GmbH Nordost, based in his former LPG in Semlow. Rapeseed oil is mainly produced there. He is also volunteer as chairman of the Association for the Preservation of Book Burning Remembrance , is a member of the VVN-BdA and a member of the scientific advisory board of the Thünen Society .

Johann Scheringer lives in Camitz .
