Johann Singer (Nazi functionary)

Johannes Singer (born June 16, 1869 in Sankt Florian ; † 1939) was a German political functionary ( NSDAP ).

Life

Singer was an officer in the Bavarian National Museum in Munich . His employment in the public service allowed him to be politically active.

Singer joined the NSDAP on August 17, 1920 and was one of its first members (membership number 1827). Singer acted as the first cashier of the NSDAP.

In November 1923, Singer took part in the Hitler putsch . During the prohibition of the NSDAP in the period after the coup, he was active in the reception organization Großdeutsche Volksgemeinschaft (GVG) in 1924 .

After Hitler had re-established the NSDAP on February 27, 1925 and the GVG disbanded on March 12, 1925, Singer rejoined the newly founded party on March 24, 1925.

Singer was one of Hitler's closest confidants from the start. During Hitler's imprisonment in Landsberg, he was one of the first visitors on April 3, 1924.

From 1921 until its dissolution in 1923, Singer was treasurer of the NSDAP. From 1925 to 1930 he was treasurer of the NSDAP local group Schwabing , whose local group leader he was from 1930 to 1934. From 1933 until his death in 1939 he was a member of the Munich City Council . According to Agnes Brack, he is also said to have been the administrator of the local groups in Bogenhausen and Haidhausen.

With the Blood Order ( award number 33 ) and the Golden Party Badge , he received two of the highest awards of the NSDAP.
