History and architecture

The construction of today's hall church began with the eastern part. The start of construction is dated 1687 and was bricked in rubble. The choir closes on three sides . This building replaced a previous church from the 15th century. The auxiliary bishop Johann Daniel Gudenus consecrated the church in October 1690 and placed it under the patronage of the apostles Peter and Paul. An extension by two axes to the west took place from 1867 to 1870, at the same time the tower on the northwest corner was built in stone . This has mighty buttresses and is crowned with a massive pointed helmet. The sacristy is on the southeast side. The sundial from 1494 is on the south side, it probably comes from the previous building. Below is a coat of arms of the von Hagen family. In the romanized west gable, an Art Nouveau rose window can be seen, the column portal below is rounded. The interior is equipped with a plastered wooden barrel. The windows in the choir show scenes from the childhood of Jesus, the six windows in the nave the twelve apostles.
