Johann Ulrich Grunholzer

Johann Ulrich Grunholzer (* July 23, 1810 in Gais ; † January 13, 1880 in Herisau ; resident in Gais) was a Swiss municipality clerk , land clerk and politician from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Johann Ulrich Grunholzer was a son of Ulrich Grunholzer, teacher , landlord and land clerk, and Katharina Nänni. He was a brother of Heinrich Grunholzer . In 1832 he married Anna Loppacher, daughter of Bartholome Loppacher. Johann Ulrich Grunholzer was a teacher in Trogen until 1848 . From 1848 to 1857 he was land clerk for the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, actuary of the cantonal specialist commission and the state school commission, and state police administrator for the Sitter . From 1857 to 1876 Grunholzer was the municipality clerk and councilor of Herisau. He earned high services in the singing business in his residential communities and in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden: from 1844 to 1870 he was the conductor of the Appenzell Singers' Association. He presides over it from 1862 to 1869. From 1860 to 1863 he was president of the Appenzell-Extra-Rhodian Cantonal Rifle Association .
