After elementary school, Baltz attended the secondary school for girls in Arnsberg. After the success with an opera libretto , for which she was awarded, she became a writer. She wrote short stories , poetry and wrote plays. She published partly under the pseudonyms : Helene Busch and Joseph Bajovar.

In the 19th century, it was best known for its historical, "patriotic" plays and festivals. Some of them saw over a hundred performances. A festival in honor of Wilhelm I was performed in over fifty cities. Between 1891 and 1900 she wrote a series of festivals for the Niederrheinischer Verein für Orts- und Heimatkunde in Wesel . In 1894, the piece was dedicated to " Queen Luise ". Even if the pieces were played in the past, they always ended in an apotheosis of the imperial family. In the play "Aus Germaniens Heldentagen" for the foundation festival of the student union Germania Münster, Baltz combined Catholic and Prussian-Protestant images of history. From the Varus Battle through the medieval empire, the play extended to the enfeoffment of the Mark Brandenburg to the Hohenzollern .

But she also wrote festivals such as “Weg und Ziel” for the 25th anniversary of the Trier Art and Trade Association . Baltz also wrote a piece about the Vetera legionary camp near Xanten .

A street in Arnsberg is named after Baltz. She is buried in the local oak cemetery . Her estate is in the Sauerland Museum .
