Johannes Blender (born September 6, 1903 in Heide (Holstein) ; † February 4, 1957 ) was a German operations manager and SED functionary. From 1950 to 1957 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Blender, son of a worker, attended elementary school and learned the trade of farrier in a village blacksmith's shop . But then he went to Hamburg as a shipyard worker . Here he was politically organized in 1927 and persecuted and imprisoned by the Nazis after 1933 . From 1934 to 1946 he worked as a supervisor for steel structures in a company belonging to the Thyssen group .

After the Second World War , he was elected works council chairman of the West Berlin branch of Thyssen in 1945 , but dismissed in 1946 because of his SED membership. He went to the eastern sector and from 1947 worked as a foreman at VEB Bau Berlin on the reconstruction of the city. For his achievements in the construction of Stalinallee , he was honored as an Honored Activist in 1951 and in 1953 for the further development of a deck crane with the honorary title of Honored Inventor .

In October 1950 he became a member of the People's Chamber as a Berlin representative and member of the SED parliamentary group . Blender was a member of the Bau-Holz industrial union and the SED district leadership in Berlin. In February 1953 he was elected to the council of the Berlin-Friedrichshain district. In 1953 he became head of the newly formed VEB Stahl- und Montagebau Berlin.

Johannes Blender died on February 4, 1957 at the age of 53.
