Diedrich Heinrich Graf Taube von Odenkat ( Swedish : Didrik Henrik Taube af Odenkat; born September 24, 1711 in Karlskrona ; † February 17, 1781 at Mems Castle near Norrköping ) was a Swedish count , Landshövding and admiral . He came from the German-Swedish-Baltic noble family of the von Taube .

In 1723 he was a student in Uppsala and in 1724 volunteered in the Swedish Admiralty . In 1729 he was promoted to lieutenant and in 1731 entered the service of the Swedish King Frederick as chamberlain . His promotion to lieutenant captain took place a year later, he traveled to Italy and Malta in 1733 and served in the Maltese navy , making his seafaring experience in the Mediterranean . In 1735 he served as a volunteer in a French squadron , was promoted to Swedish captain , and in 1736 switched to the English Navy as a helmsman . On behalf of the Swedish East India Company he sailed from 1737 to 1739 with His Majesty's Ship (SMS) Stockholm to Canton ( Empire China ). As early as 1737, he was promoted to lieutenant admiral, then in 1743 he was employed as adjutant general for the fleet. In 1754 he was promoted to Rear Admiral (Schoutbynacht). With the promotion to Vice Admiral he became Landshövding and Commander in Chief of Gotland . From 1763 to 1772 he was Landshövding and commander-in-chief of the Fästningsgarna garrison in Gothenburg and Bohuslän . Eventually he was promoted to admiral in 1768 and left the Swedish Navy on May 29, 1772.

Diedrich Heinrich is a son of the Swedish Imperial Admiral Eberhard Diedrich Count Taube von Odenkat (1681–1751) and his wife Christina Maria Falkenberg (1685–1753). In 1742 he married Jakobine Sophia Sparrsköld (1725–1750), his second marriage in 1752 and Magdalena Beate Ribbing (1717–1780) and Magdalena Beate Gabrielsdotter's third marriage af Zernava (1717–1780). Since they had no male successor, the Count's succession was transferred to his brother, the Swedish court marshal Arvid Gustaf Count Taube von Odenkat (1729–1785). His sister Hedwig Ulrike Taube von Odenkat (1714–1744) was a lady-in-waiting at the Swedish court and the mistress of the Swedish King Friedrich.
