Johannes Cornelis Jacobus Mali (mostly just Jan Mali ; born September 7, 1828 in Darthuizen near Utrecht , † January 28, 1865 in Munich ) was a Dutch - German landscape painter .

Life

The son of a Dutch estate manager and a Weilheim citizen had ten siblings, two of whom were painters: Hubert and Christian Mali .

He himself was a student of his brother-in-law, the Dutch landscape painter Pieter Francis Peters the Elder. J., and later went to Munich , where he helped his brother and student Christian to gain a foothold.
