Johannes Felscher

Johannes Felscher (* 1983 in Nuremberg ) is a German jazz musician ( double bass , electric bass , composition ).

Live and act

Felscher first studied in Würzburg, then in Stuttgart until he graduated, and then went on to do a bachelor's degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam . He then completed his master’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music and then stayed in New York to work with tenor saxophonists Paul Jones, Nuf Said and Progger . He worked with ensembles as diverse as the Amsterdam Jazz Orchestra, Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra , the Stuttgart State Opera and with Benjamin Herman , Gerard Presencer , Bobby Sanabria , Jasper Blom , Rainer Böhm , Bodek Janke and Lutz Häfner . With the saxophonists Johannes Ludwig and Joris Ivens and the drummer Peter Kronreif he formed the quartet Immigration Booth , which recorded the album Hinterm Spiegel in 2016 . He can also be heard on two albums with the pianist Roman Rofalski's trio and with Mareike Wiening's quintet .
