Johannes Höhne

Johannes Höhne MSC (born August 12, 1910 in Herbern ; † May 27, 1978 ) was a German Catholic bishop .

Life

Höhne was ordained a priest on March 14, 1937. On March 1, 1963, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Urima and Vicar Apostolic of Rabaul . On May 11, 1963, Joseph Höffner , then Bishop of Münster , consecrated him as bishop with the assistance of Nicolas Verhoeven , Bishop of Manado , and Heinrich Baaken , auxiliary bishop in Münster. On November 15, 1966, the Apostolic Vicariate of the Archdiocese was raised, and with it Höhne its first Archbishop .

He attended sessions two, three and four of the Second Vatican Council .
