Johannes Körner

Johannes Körner (born May 27, 1870 in Berlin , † September 7, 1931 in Munster ) was a German architect , Prussian construction officer and monument conservator .

Career

After studying architecture in Berlin, Körner was involved in the reconstruction of Burg Castle as a government building manager ( trainee lawyer in public construction) . In 1899 he passed the second state examination and then worked as a government builder ( assessor in public construction) for four years on the new buildings for the university clinics in Kiel . The next professional station he took over at the administration of the Province of Westphalia was the construction management for the Warstein Provincial Sanatorium . From 1909 he worked for the building construction department of the provincial head office in Münster until 1913 he was appointed head of the building construction department in the administration of the province of Posen . From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a reserve officer . After the war he was expelled from the now Polish town of Posen.

The Westphalian Provincial Administration appointed him in 1921 to Munster, succeeding Albert Ludorff on since 1915 vacant site of the provincial conservator . The three volumes of the series Die Bau- und Kunstdenkmäler von Westfalen (see under Writings ) that were created under his direction are characterized by a more detailed description of the objects recorded than in the previous volumes.
