Johannes Kopf (2016)

Johannes Kopf (* 1973 in Vienna ) is an Austrian lawyer . He has been a member of the board of the Austrian Employment Service (AMS) since 2006 .

Life

Johannes Kopf grew up in an academic family in Vienna-Döbling . His mother is a psychologist and the father worked in the advertising industry. He studied law at the University of Vienna (Dr. jur.) And completed a two-year postgraduate course in European law at the Danube University Krems ( LL.M. ). Between 1999 and 2003 he worked as a consultant at the Federation of Industrialists with a focus on labor market and employment policy. From 2003 to mid-2006 Kopf worked as a labor market expert and speaker in the cabinet of Minister of Economics and Labor Martin Bartenstein and on the administrative board of the AMS. In June 2006 he was appointed to the Board of Management.

In June 2019 he was elected to succeed Fons Leroy (Belgium, VDAB) as chairman of the European Public Employment Services (PES network).
