Johannes Korb

Johannes Korb (* 1615 in Großpöhla , baptized October 27, 1615 in Grünstädtel , † April 12, 1685 in Rittersgrün ) was an Ore Mountain hammer lord .

Korb came from Großpöhla and was the son of Balthasar Korb. First he worked as a clerk, then as a shift supervisor for Caspar Wittich at his Bohemian hammer works in Breitenbach , located on the Saxon border . There he married the hammer mill daughter Rosina on May 16, 1649, with whom he took over the hammer mill in Untersachsenfeld as a tenant the following year . In 1654 he became co-owner and a few years later sole owner of the Arnold Hammer in Rittersgrün. He sold this hammer mill in 1681 for 6,500 thalers to his brother-in-law Christian Rockstroh and retired. After his death, he was buried on Maundy Thursday 1685 in the Grünstädtel cemetery.
