Johann Pering
Johann Pering or Johannes Peringius or Johann op Wederich (* around 1480 in Büderich ; † after 1541) was a German humanist and teacher . He held a master's degree .
Life
Pering came from the Wederich estate, which belonged to Büderich, and attended the school of the brothers from living together in Deventer as a pupil of Alexander Hegius . In 1498 he is enrolled in Cologne . After completing his master's degree, he first became a teacher at the Schola Paulina in Münster , where he succeeded Johannes Murmellius as vice rector in 1512 . From 1518 to 1520, from 1522 to 1532 and from 1535 to 1539 he was rector of the city's "Great School" in Wesel . Between 1522 and 1525 Adolph Clarenbach was his deputy principal. Among his students was u. a. also the later personal physician of Wilhelm the Rich Reiner Solenander .
From 1540 his work focused on training choir students in Werden monastery .
Peringius was an avid humanist and had a keen interest in spreading the Hebrew language. He was in close contact with Konrad Heresbach .
Poem request to ward off the plague
As an obituary for the friends Murmellius and Job who fell victim to the plague . Aedicollius he wrote the poem Request to ward off the plague :
Murmeilum mihi you tempore florido.
Ut quidam référant, abstulit (sc. Pestilentia), alteram
Me neс non animae dimidium meae,
Praeclarum sophiae qui specimen fuit.
Haec arctoque mihi foedere deditum
Insignem sophiae et moribus integrum
Ioannem eripuit sic Edicollium,
Longo qui docuit tempore litteras.
